Priyanka Chopra

After making waves with her Marathi film Ventilator where she acted and sang in it apart from producing the film, Priyanka Chopra has now turned her attention to Punjabi cinema and will be producing Sarvann, a coming of age story that is set to be released in theatres soon. While the production house Purple Pebble Pictures was launched a couple of years ago and was all set to co-produce Madamji along with producer-director Madhur Bhandarkar, the film was however postponed owing to Priyanka's ongoing American TV series Quantico.

Saif Ali Khan

Actor Saif Ali Khan decided to get into production back in 2009 so that he could own the work that he had done and be more creatively involved. The first venture of his production house Illuminati Films was Love Aaj Kal and came out a winner. The other films that have been done by Illuminati Films include Cocktail, Agent Vinod, Go Goa Gone, Happy Ending and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan owns two production companies - Dreamz Unlimited which he started with good friend and actress Juhi Chawla and Red Chilles Entertainment. Dreamz Unlimited has produced some notable films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Asoka and Chalte Chalte while Red Chillies Entertainment has given hits like Ra.One, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. The just released film Dear Zindagi starring Alia Bhatt and King Khan himself in what is supposedly an extended cameo is also produced by this production house.

Anushka Sharma

Together with her sibling Karnesh Sharma, Anushka Sharma launched Clean Slate Films in 2014 and went on to deliver a powerful debut film with NH-10, which delves into the bold subject of honour killing and violent crimes prevalent on India’s national highways. The second venture Phillauri, said to be a fun love story and starring Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada will come out next year.

Salman Khan

With the aim of generating funds for his charitable trust Being Human, Salman Khan launched Salman Khan Being Human Productions in 2011 and the first movie under the banner Chillar Party fared pretty well at the box office.. He then went on to start a second production house Salman Khan Film which went on to produce Hero, the film which launched Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.

Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn began producing with a flop. Raju Chacha, in which he starred with his wife Kajol, was a commercial failure. It was followed by U Me Aur Hum, which he also directed, and opened to favourable reviews. Other films produced by him include All The Best: Fun Begins, Bol Bachchan and S.O.S. - Son Of Sardar. His recent productions Parched and Shivaay which also stars him in the lead role have done well at the box office.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar ventured into production and started Hari Om Entertainment in 2008 with the hit comedy Singh is Kinng, which was followed by De Dana Dan in 2009. Akshay has played the key role in all of his movies except for the Indo-Canadian film Breakaway, which was titled Speedy Singhs in its Hindi version. His most recent productions include Airlift and Rustom.

Pooja Bhatt

An actor to reckon with, Pooja, proved her mettle with films like "Daddy", "Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin" and "Zakhm". However coming from a family of producers and directors, turning prodcuer herself was just the next step. Her kitty is full of several hits like Dushman, Jism and the recent film Cabaret starring Richa Chadda.

Aamir Khan

It appears that anything that Aamir Khan has a hand in is a sure success. The mega star got into production in 1999 under the banner Aamir Khan Productions and got off to a cracker of a start with the hugely successful Lagaan. Ever since then the production house has continue to dole out hits like Taare Zameen Par, Delhi Belly and Peepli Live among others.

John Abraham

John Abraham's company, John Entertainment Ltd got into action and produced director Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor. They then followed it up with Madras Cafe, Rocky Handsome and the recent Force 2. It has also dipped its feet in Marathi cinema and the production is expected to go on floors next year
