MAPUSA: The snooker player who represented Goa in the National Games has been booked in yet another case, this time for cheating.
Mapusa Police has booked alleged accused Suleman Shaikh for duping a young man of Rs 1.80 lakh with a promise of offering employment.
A resident of Assonora who runs a travel agency in Mapusa complained that Suleman took an amount of Rs 1.80 lakh under the pretext of giving a job to her son in a government department.
“The accused neither kept his promise of providing the job nor returned the money of the complainant,” said Jivba Dalvi, SDPO Mapusa.
Mapusa Police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC.
The accused Suleman Shaikh, a resident of New Vaddem, Vasco was recently arrested by Porvorim Police for being involved in house breaking cases.
Dalvi informed that Mapusa police will take custody of the accused by obtaining the transfer warrant from the court.
Mapusa Police are investigating further.
