The traditional Chorotsav of Karanjol Devasthan was celebrated in the presence of thousands of devotees and citizens in Sattari.

After the Chorotsav, the traditional Ghode Modni festival was held, marking the conclusion of the Shigmo festival. A large number of devotees and locals gathered to witness this unique traditional ritual.

According to available information, a special legend is associated with the traditional Chorotsav of Karanjol in Sattari taluka. The event began with the traditional public announcement ceremony (Sarvajanik Sangne). On this occasion, officials of the Karanjol Devasthan, representatives of various temples from Sattari taluka, and Health Minister and local MLA Vishwajit Rane were present.

The traditional musical instruments and the unique method of narrating ritual chants created great curiosity and excitement about the festival from the very beginning.

After the public announcement, the gathering proceeded from the temple courtyard towards the original temple. Chanting the name of the Goddess and accompanied by traditional musical instruments, the procession moved to the main temple in the village, where the Chorotsav ritual was performed. This tradition of celebrating the Chorotsav at this place has been followed for several centuries. During the ritual, some participants are buried up to their heads while others are buried up to their waists. Devotees and citizens from different parts of Goa gathered in large numbers to witness this unique spectacle.

The Chorotsav ritual lasts for about an hour. The covering placed around the ritual area is gradually removed in stages, allowing the audience to witness the traditional practice step by step. This year as well, the same arrangement was made, giving the large crowd an opportunity to observe the ritual in phases.

After the Chorotsav, the traditional Ghode Modni festival was celebrated at the temple premises. Various traditional and religious rituals were also performed during the event. Former Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane participated in the ceremony. Importantly, the Chorotsav celebrated at Karanjol has religious and traditional connections with several villages in Sattari taluka. During the public announcement ceremony, the deities of these villages are specifically mentioned. This tradition has been carefully preserved by the villagers and devotees.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane congratulated the villagers and devotees for maintaining this heritage and expressed hope that the festival will continue uninterrupted in the future, urging the villagers to remain united to preserve this tradition.
