Train services between Goa and Londa resumed from Monday evening, after the 17 derailed bogies at Braganza Ghat were re-railed.
However, only goods train services have been allowed on the route for now, informed the SWR.
On a trial basis, the first train was moved with a speed restriction of 10 kmph. With the successful run, the track was declared fit for further operations with a speed restriction of 20 kmph as a precautionary measure at 7.30 pm.
Currently, only goods trains are permitted to run with a speed restriction of 20 kmph. Once the additional track maintenance is completed, passenger trains will be allowed to operate, South Western Railway authorities said.
It may be recalled that on August 9, 17 of the 58 wagons of a fully loaded goods train derailed between Sonaulim and Dudhsagar stations in the Braganza Ghat section of the Hubballi Division.
Immediate measures were taken to restore the affected section, mobilising men and machines.
Despite challenging circumstances, dedicated teams worked tirelessly to ensure the track was restored.
General Manager Arvind Srivastava, AGM K S Jain and Divisional Railway Manager Harsh Khare appreciated the efforts of all the workers, staff, and officers for their exemplary work during the track restoration.
