Waman Naik, suspended police head constable, has surrenderedbefore high court in sexual abuse case of Calangute PS.
He was accused in police-prostitutes-pimps nexus Waman Naik and earlier appealed his anticipatory bail order in the bench ofthe Bombay High Court at Goa, after JMFC Mapusa rejected his bail plea onDecember 18, last year.
Investigating office police inspector Sunita Sawant has saidthat they will be filing their reply in court on Monday opposing the bail plea. Waman also pleaded for the interim relief which court has turneddown.
Waman Naik and two other police personnel were suspendedfrom service after the crime branch filed an FIR against them for keeping linkswith prostitutes and pimps in December 2012, following a complaint from AudaViagas, a social activist.
