The victim stated that she also knew one more policeman bythe name Waman, working at Calangute police station. He became her good friendas he used to visit her and the understanding was that he would provideprotection, if she provided him with information about a new sexual workers –both female as well as transgenders – so that he could extort protection moneyand demand sexual favours. If she didn’t comply, the said Waman had threatenedher that he would put her in trouble. Accordingly in order to save herself andlive her life, she was providing him with information. Sometimes, she saidWaman threatened her and extorted money, Rs. 4000 or so, for not giving him information.

The victim stated, that somewhere in 2010 or so, the saidpolice constable Waman came in civil clothes on a Splendor motorcycle to therented room and extorted Rs.2000-3000 etc. from each of the transgenders. Hedemanded Rs. 3000 etc. from their earnings. She requested him to have mercy onher and that she would pay him Rs. 1000, however Waman did not agree. Hethreatened her that he will throw out of the house. The constable Waman thenhad sexual intercourse with her against her wishes and further threatened hernot to disclose the fact to anybody or he would throw her out of the house.

On December 28, 2010, at around 02.30 am, the victim met twopolice constables, whom she knew were working at Calangute police station, butdid not know their names. The constables were in civil dress, standing near theparked vehicles, having a drink. She told them that she saw the transgenders,who were sharing a room with her, rob gold jewellery from their customers. Ontheir (the policemen’s) request, she took them to the guest house room, wherethe two policemen checked the transgender’s belongings of the transgender andforcibly took away 12 gold chains, 1 bracelet, the two gold rings and Rs. 15000in cash from them. Then, one of the constables took one of the transgenders tothe bathroom, kept the door open, and forcibly had unnatural sex with thetransgender.

The victim and her female friend, a commercial sexual workerfrom other state, were walking in Baga in the night. There they met Waman, inpolice uniform, who followed them to their rented room where he forced himselfon her friend and left without paying her money.
