YI gets a new chair and co-chair for 2016-17

Goa’s chapter of Young Indians (YI) got a new chair and co-chair for 2016-17 with Omkar Kamat Sambary, founder of Ideal Homes, was selected as chair and Rupesh Gauns, owner Food Express, was selected as the latter.

YI is a part of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and is aimed at promoting young entrepreneurs. YI also undertakes several programmes emphasising the role of youth in society.

Nitin Desai, proprietor, Desai Concrete Castings was the chair of YI in 2015-16. Desai gave presentation highlighting YI’s activities in 2015-16. He said, “During the year, we signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with centre for incubation and business acceleration (CIBA) to encourage youth entrepreneurship”.

Desai even spoke about ‘Project Masoom’ under YI, which is aimed at spreading awareness about child abuse.

Several industry captains, including Shekhar Sardessai (chairman of CII’s Goa chapter) and Parag Joshi (managing partner of Jutex), were present at the event.
