Three Formula 4 race car drivers had a lucky escape when their vehicles were involved in separate mishaps as the Goa Street Race got underway at the Manohar International Airport on Saturday. The race cars involved in the mishap were immediately moved by a rescue team using a crane.

Motorcycle stunts were also presented during the Goa Street Race event. The event drew a large crowd, both enthusiastic and curious, to witness the proceedings.

However, the organisers came in for criticism over the discriminatory facilities provided to local media in comparison to the national media.

Local media persons complained to the organisers that they were placed too far from the race and the obstacles had made it difficult to capture the proceedings, while the national media was given preferential treatment and a bird’s eye view of the race. Some of the spectators complained that the event lacked planning and coordination.

According to some spectators, volunteers themselves did not have enough information and the spectators had to move from one place to the other. At some places, some spectators had ether to walk on dusty paths or muddy roads which were sprinkled with water.
