PANAJI: Colvale Police arrested a 25-year-old Nepal national for alleged possession of 3.5 kg of ganja, worth around Rs 3.5 lakh, during a raid at Thivim railway station yesterday.
The accused, identified as Roshan Japrel, currently residing in Calangute, had arrived from Mumbai on the Mandovi Express. He was intercepted by a special team deployed at the station’s parking lot and was found with the contraband meant for sale in Goa.
Police confirmed that Japrel had earlier been arrested in 2024 by Saligao Police in another NDPS case. Further investigation is underway.
