PORVORIM
An employee of a private company has been booked by Porvorim police in connection with a fraud of Rs 23 lakh.
Hukumpal Devendra Solanki (37), the owner of Creative Entrepreneur located at Green Hills, Soccoro, filed a complaint with Porvorim police stating that the accused Susanta Kumar Babaji Gochhayat (43) of Odisha was working with them as an account assistant and was entrusted with the work of disbursement of money for local requirements.
Gochhayat was accused of dishonestly misappropriating an amount of Rs 23 lakh, thereby committing a breach of trust. The accused had gone to his native place in Odisha a few days ago and since he did not return and was not responding to phone calls, Solanki suspected foul play and upon checking, noticed a fraud in the accounts.
Police have registered the offence under Section 408 of the Indian Penal Code and PSI Sitaram Malik is investigating the case under the guidance of Police Inspector Rahul Parab.
