Mormugao Police on Thursday arrested Bharat Kumar (32) of Patna-Bihar but residing at Sasmolem-Baina on charges of illegally possessing 320 grammes of ganja worth Rs 32,000.
Sources in Mormugao police said a narcotic raid was conducted by PSI Yeshwant Raikar along with Head Constable Aiyas Shaikh and Constables Vasu Patel, Rajaram Pandhare and Vivek Bhagat near the Sulabh Toilet at Baina.
"The accused Bharat Kumar was caught red-handed with the illegal possession of 320 grammes Ganja worth Rs 32,000 while he had come to deliver to his customers. The accused has been arrested under the NDPS Act," said the source.
PSI Stanley Gomes is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Dhiraj Devidas and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Santosh Desai.
