A 53-year-old man living alone in his house was found dead inside the living room of his home at Dapot in Maxem-Loliem.
According to Canacona police, a local from Dapot noticed foul smell from inside a house and suspecting something fishy, informed the Canacona police.
A Canacona police team with the help of Canacona Fire and Emergency Service personnel broke open the door and entered the house, where they noticed a decomposed body lying on the floor in supine position inside the living room.
The man, identified as Ram Kharat, was staying alone in the house and was a chronic alcoholic and according to police, the family was staying separately in Bhatpal-Canacona.
Canacona police conducted the inquest panchnama and sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for further medico-legal formalities. Canacona PSI Babu Dessai is conducting further investigation.
