Six panchas of the Santa Cruz panchayat have moved a no-confidence motion against the Sarpanch, Jennifer Oliveira, and Deputy Sarpanch, Elson Braganca.
The panchas include Inacio Domnic Pereira, Rosy Fernandes, Peter Araujo, Sandeep Sawant, Luisa Fernandes, and Lafira Oliveira.
Sources informed that Inacio Pereira is the mastermind behind the surprising development, and he has also submitted a letter stating that he is withdrawing support for the ruling panel as he was not taken into confidence over important issues pertaining to the village.
Pereira has also accused the ruling panel of lacking vision and the will to undertake developmental works in the village.
The Goan understands that the move was long in the offing as Pereira was hurt over his removal from the post of deputy sarpanch.
