According to the official census there are @ 89,000 strays in the state of Goa. You can't escape them anywhere, be it beaches, roads, shops, restaurants or housing societies.
Now they are also infesting the Margao railway station and posing a danger to passengers. The last frontier for them to conquer is the airport and I feel that is going to happen soon.
The oh-so-compassionate dog feeders make matters worse while the government only makes hollow claims of controlling the canine population but nothing actually gets done on the ground.
It is more than high time that the strays are culled as is done for controlling vermin in other countries.
