Sobers remains cricket's greatest all-rounder

In the recently concluded five match India - England test series, Shubman Gill amassed 700+ runs, Siraj scalped 20 heads, and Harry Brook latched on to10 catches. England, under the captaincy of Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope, won all five tosses. Sterling performances by both contesting teams were scattered like confetti. Now, imagine a scenario where a single cricketer does all of that - scores more than 700 runs, picks up 20 wickets, takes 10 catches, and wins all five tosses as captain. Cut to 1966, you’ll find a gentleman who achieved this incredible feat, the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers. Against England, in a 5 match Test series, Sobers scored 722 with an average of 103 and 3 centuries, claimed 20 wickets at 27.25 a piece, took 10 catches, and as captain, walked out for the toss five times winning every single one of them ; it was a superlative achievement . West Indies won that series 3-1 in dominant fashion with one match drawn. There could be many claimants (Bradman, Tendulkar, Viv Richards etc.) to the 'Greatest of all Time' crown but there will be only one greatest..... the master of the game, Sir Sobers.
