Goa must follow south India model

South India has been outperforming on most economic and developmental indicators, largely due to stronger governance by its political leadership compared to many northern states.

With just 20% of India’s population, the region contributes around 30% of the national GDP, and this share is projected to rise to nearly 40% in the coming years. In fact, much of India’s overall progress today can be credited to the robust growth emerging from the South.

The Goa government would do well to adopt and adapt the best practices of South Indian governance, rather than aligning itself with the failing and divisive policies often seen in certain northern states.

Unfortunately, this seems to be more about securing political mileage than genuinely working for Goa’s long-term development. Goans must recognize this reality and hold their leaders accountable by demanding better governance and vision for the State.
