With reference to the article titled Monkeys Target Betel Nut Trees in Sattari Causing Losses to Farmers in The Goan Everyday dated Saturday, December 7, 2024, the monkey menace can be effectively tackled by equipping farmers with taser guns and pepper sprays, assisting them with fencing off their crop areas using unscalable electric fences, and by catching and sterilising monkeys.
Radio-collaring and microchipping them can help understand their behaviour better before releasing them deep into forest areas, thus reducing their nuisance. In these ways, we can and must prevent the monkey menace quickly and properly.
