At the Adpai jetty in Ponda, a time table pertaining to the timing of ferry service from Adpai to Rassaim and back has been installed for the information of commuters travelling via Adpai ferry. However, at the Durbhat jetty (also in Ponda), no such timetable has been put up. Hence commuters wishing to proceed via Durbhat ferry towards Rassaim do not receive necessary information of timing pertaining to ferry service. Hence they remain in the dark. In the absence of necessary time table at these premises, many commuters reach here much early with the fear of missing the ferry. This involves waste of one’s precious time. Some commuters even miss the ferry for reaching late at this particular jetty. Many people proceed for work at Cortalim, Verna, Vasco and the neighbouring areas via Durbhat ferry and they are likely to face problem at their respective place of work for reaching late. They face great inconvenience in the process. Hence it would be advisable for the Captain of Ports to install the much-needed timetable of ferry service at the Durbhat jetty (the way it is done at Adpai) at the earliest so that commuters remain aware of the exact timing of ferry service. Such a favourable step would assure relief to them to a great extent. Let us hope that the authorities would do the needful at the earliest in the interest of innocent travellers. Of course, such a timely positive step would be appreciated by one and all.
