Sewerage works along the CHOGM road in Porvorim have apparently been completed, bringing much relief to the residents of the area. The main road has been repaired and hot mixed and it is now a pleasure to drive, barring the inevitable traffic jams witnessed every day. However no attention has been given to the walkway on the west side which has been left in a battered state with the removal of paver blocks, making it very dangerous for pedestrians to walk. There are large stretches of exposed surfaces that form puddles of water after a light shower and further add to the plight of pedestrians. At present there are no visible signs of any repairs, even though paver blocks lie strewn over, along with large quantities of gravel and sand. It is hoped that the village Panchayat of Pilerne Mara will look into the matter and restore this once beautiful walkway which was gifted and opened at the hands of the late chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
