Aftermath of ‘going and telling Modi’

While multiparty delegations are touring several countries to effectively present Indian side in the recent riposte to Pahalgam terror; the LoC and International border with Pakistan have fallen silent again after a tense period of intense war mongering and misadventure by the hostile neighbours.

Thanks to a decisive Indian leadership, heightened morale of the armed forces who got a free hand to deal with an imprudent mis-adventurous neighbour. Pakistan’s top national mandate it seems is to unleash terror in India, rather than address pressing problems of hunger, mounting international debts and political turmoil in their own country.

ISI-orchestrated terror in Pahalgam, selective brutality heaped on Hindu tourists and the arrogance  displayed by the terrorist in saying “go and tell Modi” has cost that sponsor-state significant weighty damage in terms of loss of their ‘terror-indoctrinated and radicalised foot soldiers’ and  ‘terror universities’ vested in their shady madrasas, casualty  on their military outposts and bases, destruction of defence infrastructure and critical runways for mobilising air-defence.

But more than the physical loss of terror capital, Pakistan has suffered terrible global crash of their misplaced arrogance built over years on their threat of nuclear weapons possession and capability. This failed country used their borrowed ballistic missiles and nuclear weaponry not for deterrence, but as a threat and intimidation tactic to scare a non-violent neighbour like Bharat.

Their intelligence failure, lame diplomacy and absence of strategic military planning was evident all through, until the utterly petrified and desperate leadership of that country sought ceasefire. All their key ministers went on television only displaying their lack of geo-political prudence, extremely poorly articulated deceptive narrative ‘playing victim’ as always. Their military personnel some of whom are in the lineage of designated terrorists fell flat on nose while responding to queries posed by their own media, unknowingly admitting to the superiority of Indian forces and war machine.

Notwithstanding Asim Munir’s self-coronation to the rank of Field Marshal, their collective whispers of fear and the fallen faces were heard and seen behind the tall cantonment walls.

What stood out in this recent episode of intense action was the unified national sentiment and resolute Indian political will to strike back, hard and deep, while minimising loss of civilian lives and assets. What is more interesting and impressive is that our response to their costly misadventure was strategically multipronged and smartly phased. First came the internal consultation and coordination with all key stakeholders, then came international diplomacy of projecting facts before global audience, and confidence building measures in view of India’s legitimate right not only to defend its territory and citizens, but also to avenge loss of innocent lives.

The suspension of Indus water treaty was a lethal blow to Pakistan turning it into a parched, thirsty nation. No previous government had demonstrated this master stroke! Pakistan cried foul, beat their chest and said it was an act of war, kept Simla Agreement in abeyance, closed their airspace for India, but to no avail.

There was no war cry, but in hindsight the operation was very appropriately and intelligently named as ‘Sindoor’ by none other than the prime Minister himself.  Modi’s penchant for effective symbolism has no match once again, ‘sindoor’ was a tribute to that horrific sight of a newlywed young woman sitting beside the corpse of her husband shot dead by the terrorists at point blank range in Pahalgam. The colour of sindoor was transferred to the other side of the border by explosive flames emanating from the missiles launched by India when the enemy was least prepared. While we made it clear that this was only a punitive action to avenge Pahalgam and non-escalatory strikes excluding civilian areas. The puppet political dispensation of the rabid Pakistan army, headed by Syed Asim Munir an extremely radicalised and fanatic army chief and a known India and Hindu hater did not have the political prudence to exercise restraint and call it a ‘love all’ situation with equal scores on both sides.

He miscalculated that his position can be strengthened by displaying a false bravado of retaliation, further escalating the skirmish and changing it to a hostile war like situation. The flurry of Turkish drones, Chinese missiles showered through the night were effectively nullified by Indian ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ our S-400 long range air defence missile system. But it was evident that they had allies in Türkiye, besides their long-time money lander China. It is worthy to be mentioned  that this impenetrable ‘Suraksha Kavach’ of S-400 system was visualised as essential and indispensable and the deal finalised during the tenure of our very own Manohar Parrikar as a defence minister, a proof of his astute vision and technological competence.

In this limited but deep precision strike India demonstrated its unambiguous diplomatic supremacy, strong and decisive leadership intolerant of intimidation and nuclear threats, supremacy in war tactics and technology to the region and the world.

While the international media took a careful and guarded stance, scepticism was silenced by the action backed by detailed proofs presented in briefings by two women officers of army and air force, thoughtfully chosen to convey the spirit of Indian women empowerment.

India has exposed and shamed Pakistan and its dummy leadership in all fora, exposing their nefarious design and nexus with terror groups. However, devil has his own admirers and sympathisers too. Our erudite and articulate foreign minister S. Jaishankar had made it clear, that there is no scope to talk with Pakistan except about them finishing their terror bases and returning the Pak occupied Kashmir.  The enemy cannot be trusted going by their past records of deceit and treachery. India must be guarded and vigilant. No matter what, a dog’s tail cannot be straightened.
