Former Air India defender Ajay Acharya has been named the new head coach of Lips Football Academy.
Acharya, who played for notable clubs such as Sesa Football Academy, Air India, Orkay Mills, Dempo Sports Club, and Anderson Marries, brings extensive experience to his new role. His coaching background includes stints with Sesa Football Academy, Panjim Footballer, Hindustan FC, and Luca FC.
Kerala-based Lips FA, which operates under-17 and under-20 age group teams, offers a comprehensive year-long residential programme that balances sports and education.
On his new role, Acharya expressed enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited to take up this opportunity at Lips FA. This role presents a significant challenge and opportunity for me at this stage in my coaching career.
"The region has a strong foundation of football talent, and I am eager to help develop players for both the academy and the Indian Football Team. I am confident that my experience in setting up youth structures and creating professional pathways will be beneficial to the academy and the club as a whole.”
