The Panjim Gymkhana Angley's Table Tennis Team Championship is poised to begin on June 8 from 10 am onwards, promising two days of thrilling table tennis action.
A total of 20 teams will vie for supremacy in this prestigious season opening tournament, organised by Panjim Gymkhana in collaboration with the Goa Table Tennis Association.
The excitement starts with the qualifying rounds on June 8 at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji. The competition intensifies with the main draw scheduled for June 9 at Panjim Gymkhana, Campal. The tournament features four groups, each comprising five teams, competing in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, which includes quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final, all to be held on June 9 at Panjim Gymkhana.
The participating teams include BPS Mavericks, BPS Star Contender, Don Bosco Oratory, Goa Warriors, GTTTC Gladiators, GTTTC Titans, Hotel Virashree, Kadamba Panthers, Lourdes Sporting, Mapusa Smashers, Ocean Park A, Ocean Park B, Panjim Gymkhana, Panjim TT Club, Peddem Champs, Shantadurga Knight Riders, Super Smashers, UV Hustlers, UV Sigma, and UV Wizards.
Inspired by the elite Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) championship, this event features a unique format with five matches per tie. Categories include Veterans (40 & above) Doubles, Women's Singles, Men's Singles, Junior (U19) Boys Singles, and Mixed Doubles.
