Benaulim Veterans won the 2nd Our Lady of Fatima Veterans Football Cup after beating Murida Fatorda Veterans 2-1, organised by Our Lady of Fatima Sports and Cultural Club Baida Chinchinim, at Our Lady of Hope church ground, Chinchinim, recently.
Benaulim captain Pele scored a beautiful goal from 22 yards beating the goalkeeper hands down in the 11th minute. Babazinho made it 2 -0 with a glancing header in the 20th minute. Fatorda Veterans pulled a goal back through Martin Pereira in the 36th minute.
The Chief Guest Cruz Silva, MLA Velim Constituency, Benjamin Silva, Ex MLA Velim Constituency, Adv. Agnelo Furtado, Fr Alex D'Souza, Valentino Baretto, Sarpanch and other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
