Betalbatim Sporting Club prevailed 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout against CAC Cansaulim to book their place in the semifinals of the 16th Davorlim Cup, organised by Sporting Club Davorlim at the Panchayat Ground, Davorlim, on Wednesday.
The two sides were locked in a goalless stalemate at the end of regulation time, forcing the contest into a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Betalbatim converted through Venceslau Antao, Elroy Fernandes, Ashley Fernandes and Raj Kerkar. For CAC Cansaulim, Dexter Fernandes, Dominic Soares and Melwyn Gama were on target, but it was not enough to prevent their exit.
Vallab Varik, a football enthusiast, presented the Man of the Match award to Dexter Fernandes of CAC Cansaulim for his impressive performance.
