Fourteen-year-old Erica J de Sequeira clinched the silver medal in the Girls -50 kg (No-GI) category, while her younger sister, 10-year-old Giovanna de Sequeira, secured silver in the Girls -32 kg (No-GI) category at the ADCC National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024 in Greater Noida. The sisters showcased exceptional skill, resilience, and competitive spirit in their respective events.
The siblings, who train under the expert guidance of International Coach Ronnyy (Raunak Singh), credited their coach’s advanced techniques and unwavering dedication for their success. Their victories are a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and commitment to excellence shared by both the athletes and their coaching team.
Interestingly, Giovanna was inspired to pursue Jiu-Jitsu by her elder sister Erica, who has represented India in 15 international championships. The de Sequeira sisters’ achievements have not only brought pride to the state of Goa but are also expected to inspire other young athletes to explore the sport.
