FC Siolim edged past UC Verna 6-5 via tiebreaker to storm into the final of the 18th All Goa Inter-Village Seraulim Panchayat Cup Football Tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
The first half ended goalless, with both sides showing cautious play and strong defensive organisation.
UC Verna broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when Sheldon Pereira unleashed a fine left-footed strike to make it 1-0. However, Siolim responded quickly, with Chandrakant Shirodkar equalising just four minutes later after a defensive lapse allowed him to finish and bring the score to 1-1.
With both teams unable to be separated in regulation time, the match went into a tiebreaker, where FC Siolim held their nerve. They converted through Mayuresh Naik, Lavnay Shirodkar, Kashiram Pomborpekar, Sahil Pomborpekar and Kanaya Govenkar.
For UC Verna, Sheldon Pereira, Jesloy Moniz, Fulganco Cardozo and Veagan Calado found the net, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
Chandrakant Shirodkar, who delivered an impressive performance, was adjudged Man of the Match.
The final will be played on May 1 at 5 pm between Wilred USCC Curtorim and FC Siolim.
