Ajit Ghatkar won three titles at the Sarsangan table tennis tournament organised by Saraswat Sports Sangh Charitable Trust at SAG Indooor Hall, Fatorda.
Ghatkar won the titles in men's singles +50, men's doubles +40 and men's doubles +50 categories. In men's singles +50 category, Ghatkar got the better of Chaitanya Tarcar 11-2, 11-4, 11-3 in the final. Milind Salkar beat Prashant Kaisare in a 5-set thriller to clinch the 3rd place with a 5-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-13, 11-9 win. Pratosh Kelekar, Girish Sanvordekar, Anup Mopkar and Balkrishna Hodarkar reached the last eight.
Ghatkar combined with Gourish Burye to win the men's doubles +40 category. In the final, they edged out Shriganesh Karande and Venkatesh Dharwadkar 12-10, 11-3, 11-2. Sumukh Kamat and Girish Sanvordekar clinched the 3rd place with a win over Shailesh Miskin and Gaurish Agni. The teams of Bhalchandra Gaitonde & Vibhav Pai, Gaurish Borkar & Anup Mopkar, Dr Shailesh Kamat & Parag Kamat made it to the quarterfinals.
In the men's doubles +50 category, Ajit Ghatkar and Prashant Kaisare beat Rajendra Naik and Vishnu Colwalkar in the finals in a closely fought match, winning 11-9, 6-11, 13-11, 11-8. Suresh Karapurkar and Mayur Sawkar clinched the 3rd place beating Vinay Sakhardande and Chaitanya Tarcar 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, 14-12. The pairs of Dr Shailesh Kamat & Dinesh Virginkar, Anup Mopkar & Pratosh Kelekar, Sanjeev Dalvi & Avdhut Kuvelkar, Milind Salkar & Amar Salkar reached the quarterfinals.
Gourish Burye won the men's singles +40 category title with a 11-6, 11-9, 11-5 win over Siddharth Borkar. Gautam Dalal edged out Gaurish Agni to clinch the third place. Deep Bhende, Girish Sanvordekar, Sriganesh Karande and Rajendra Naik made it to the last eight.
