Goa Selected Veterans beat Tea Court Football Association 1-0 in the final of 50+ South Zone Super Senior Football Championship held at Railway Football Stadium, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh organized by TCFA.
The teams played equally good football. The TCFA came close to scoring in the first half but Goan goalkeeper Ananth saved the attempt brilliantly. The all-important goal was scored in the last minute of the game by Succour Azavedo.
In the league match, Goa beat a strong Chennai 1-0 and Telangana 2-0 with goals from Ramesh Virnodkar and Minglu D'Souza. They also beat Hyderabad 1-0 with a strike by Santan Furtado. Damodar Sirsat sponsored the Goa Veterans Team. Goa received cash prize and a winners' trophy.
