Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem delivered a dominant performance to defeat Curtorim Gymkhana 3–0 in the 44th Gold Silver Rolling Trophy Football Tournament, organised by Navelim Sporting Club and played at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim.
The Curchorem side started the match at a blistering pace, consistently testing Curtorim’s defence and goalkeeper Jhonson Bogot. Their efforts paid off in the 20th minute when Ivo Costa fired a powerful shot from inside the box, beating both the defence and the goalkeeper to give Guardian Angel a well-deserved 1–0 lead at halftime.
Curtorim Gymkhana attempted to regroup in the second half and pressed for an equaliser, but Guardian Angel’s defence stood resolute, thwarting every attack.
As the game progressed, Guardian Angel SC sealed the contest with two quick goals. Richard Fernandes and Reslan Costa found the net in quick succession, putting the result beyond doubt and securing their team a spot in the quarterfinals.
For his outstanding performance and crucial opening goal, Ivo Costa of Guardian Angel SC was named Man of the Match.
