Navelim Sporting Club blanked Young Strikers Benaulim 2-0 to book their place in the semi-finals of the Gold Silver trophy inter-village football tournament, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Declan Carvalho of Benaulim missed a chance to score in the tenth minute.
Mark Gomes opened the score-line for Navelim with a placement shot off Clinton Niasso's pass in the 16th minute. Two minutes later, Clinton Niasso netted the second goal for Navelim.
Mark Gomes of Navelim Sporting Club was presented with the man-of-the-match award by Edwin Cardozo ZP member.
Curtorim Gymkhana prevail
Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Arlem Youth Association and moved to the semi-finals of the 12th Our Lady of Fatima Cup organised by Dicarpale SC, at Dicarpale ground, on Monday.
Mario Mascarenhas, Joy Hilario and Marcus Fernandes netted a goal each for Curtorim in the 18th, 39th and 58th minutes respectively. Marcus Fernandes was awarded the man-of-the-match award.
