Pax of Nagoa SC emerged champions of the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League defeating Deao Sports Club in the final with a 5-0 win at Nagoa ground, on Sunday. Pax of Nagoa are now promoted to the GFA Second Division League.
After playing an end-to-end battle in the first half, Nagoa managed to break the deadlock in the 45th minute through Xavier Rebello. However, the second half was a totally different story as Pax of Nagoa ran riot, scoring at regular intervals after Deao SC’s Rasol Fernandes received a straight red in the 52nd minute.
Reduced to 10 men, Deao SC were outplayed by the Nagoa team. Selton Fernandes doubled the lead in the 67th minute and then Royson Colaco netted the third in the 79th minute. Selton completed his brace in the 88th minute and Sohan P hit the final nail in the rival coffin in stoppage time as Nagoa won 5-0.
At Guirim ground, FC Tuem humbled BAFF 4-0. FC Tuem scored the first in the first half through Valito Miranda. In the second half, Sweton Rebello doubled the lead before Velton DSouza scored the third in the 64th minute. Maxwell Furtado scored the fourth in the 70th minute. In another match, Arambol beat Nerul SC 3-1.
