Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club Verna hammered Augustias Sporting Club Pomburpa 3-0 to book their place in the final of the 23rd Vagator Soccer 2023 organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club ground, on Saturday.
Ih in the 4th minute, Augustias had an opportunity to take the lead but Anford Fernandes missed the chance to score when Rossman Cruz goalkeeper Savio Pereira misjudged the bounce but made a quick reaction save to deny him. The Rossman Cruz goalkeeper then made a double save in the 12th minute to deny Anford yet again.
Just before the break, Rossman Cruz broke the deadlock as a corner from Savio Pereira, headed away by the Pomburpa defence, fell at the feet of Clifton Rebello, who struck a 25-yard beauty into the back of the nets.
On crossing ends, Rossman Cruz dominated the possession and doubled their lead as Clifton Rebello dipped a shot over the rival goalkeeper Naved Almeida from the edge of the penalty area. In the 63rd minute, Anthony Fernandes of the Pomburpa side had a chance to pull one back but his strike sailed over the crossbar. Just before the final whistle, Clifton Rebello turned the provider this time as he squared a pass to Andrus John, who netted it.
The Man of the Match prize was awarded to Clifton Rebello of Rossman Cruz by Joaquim Fernandes.
