MARGAO: Sporting Club Davorlim stormed into the quarter-finals of the 19th Super Soccer Inter-Village Football Tournament with a resounding 5-0 victory over hosts UC Benaulim at the St John de Baptista Football Ground on Thursday. The tournament is being organised by UC Benaulim.
The first half was evenly contested, with both sides creating opportunities. SC Davorlim's Royson Colaco and Velroy Colaco kept the Benaulim defence on their toes, while Keegan Rodrigues and Cayden Rodrigues came close for the hosts.
However, the second half saw a complete shift in momentum as Sporting Club Davorlim came out firing. Speedster Alent Colaco stole the show with a stunning hat-trick, eventually adding a fourth goal in the 60th minute to take his personal tally to four. Substitute Neville Mascarenhas put the finishing touch with a late strike to seal a dominant win.
Alent Colaco was deservedly named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Sanford Braganza, President of UC Benaulim.
