FC Siolim recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Sesa FA in the GFA Third Division League at Tuem ground, on Monday.
Sesa were first to take the lead in the 27th minute, scoring through Mo Sahil. However, FC Siolim managed to score an equaliser through Nathan D’Souza just before the breather. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
Crossing over, both sides put up a fighting spirit and had their chances. But FC Siolim made theirs count when Prajyot Fadte scored in the 73rd minute to make it 2-1 and secure full points.
At Taleigao ground, Amravati SC made light work of Merces Club with a 6-1 win. Gizandhar Mhato put Amravati ahead in the 5th minute and then doubled the account in the 26th minute. Merces Club pulled a goal back just before the break through Gauresh Faterpekar. Amravati SC consolidated their lead through Adarsh Fadte to gain a 3-1 advantage at the breather. In the second half, Amravati SC took total control of the game and scored thrice through a Sourav brace and a Mohit Malik strike to take the final goal tally to six.
At Agassaim ground, Agassaim ran riot against St Mathew's Sports Club for a 9-1 win. Angeloid Mascarenhas, Aaron da Costa and Tristan Fernandes scored a brace each for the winners while Darryl Fernandes, Manjunath Rathod and Shenoy Fernandes netted a goal each. For the losing team, only Anthony Pereira managed to get on the scoresheet.
