VSCC Valpoi defeated Petromann MCC in a very close encounter to win the Valpoi Friendship Cup, at Nuzul cricket ground, Jebel Ali,Dubai UAE.
VSCC Valpoi captain Jilan Shah won the toss and elected to field. Captain Tanvir Sadekar led his team to score a massive target of 77 runs. Tausif Zamadar hit seven sixes thrashing the VSCC bowling attack to score 53 runs in 18 balls.
Amidst 3 quick dismissals, VSCC's Abu Khan scored 41 runs of 16 balls while Nayeem Shah scored 21 runs off 7 balls to push the match to the last ball. Abu Khan hit the ball outside the ground in the nail bitting finish to assure the host VSCC took the trophy home.
The awards were presented by Abdulla Lashkari Mohammad, Gen. Secretary Of Permanent Comittee Of Labour Affairs in Dubai in the presence of Joseph- GSCGS Chairman
The tournament was played under the auspicious banner of Goan Connecting Goans and with support of The Permanent Committee Of Labour Affairs ,Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Police.
