Maharashtra took the lead at the end of day one of competitive action, winning four gold medals, three silver and five bronze medals at the 2nd Khelo India National Women’s League Ranking Judo Tournament 2023 (West Zone), at Campal, Panaji.
Gujarat with three gold, three silver and three bronze medals were in the second spot in the action of the Sub-Junior round held on Wednesday. In number three position were Rajasthan with two gold and three silver while hosts Goa opened their account with a bronze in the -44 kg weight category, which was won by Ima Pattil.
Earlier, Ajit Roy (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary Sports, Government of Goa, Yogesh Dhadve, Chairman, JFI organising committee and JUA Referee, HPM, SAI, Gurudatta Bhakta, President, Goa Judo Association, Siddeshwar Naik, Secretary, GJA graced the inaugural function among others.
