CAC Cansaulim edged past hosts Dando Boys Club Benaulim with a narrow 1-0 victory to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the Benaulim Villagers Cup, at the St John the Baptist Panchayat ground.
The decisive moment came early when Dexter Fernandes netted a sharp finish in the sixth minute, scoring the match’s only goal. Despite going behind, the hosts fought back vigorously, dominating possession and crafting several scoring opportunities.
The final ten minutes saw relentless pressure from Benaulim, who were repeatedly denied by the woodwork—striking the post and narrowly missing the target on multiple occasions.
CAC Cansaulim stood firm in defense, successfully thwarting the late onslaught to claim a hard-fought win.
