Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, prevailed over Navelim Sporting Club 3–1 to storm into the semifinals of the Late Fr. Gervasio Pinto Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem, and played at Figueredo Ground, Pontemol, Curchorem, on Wednesday.
It was a keenly contested clash between two Salcete teams, both displaying attacking football and keeping the crowd entertained, though the first half ended goalless.
In the second session, Don Bosco Oratory took firm control of the match, finding the net thrice through Shubert Colaco, Velito Miranda, and Hanshlum Furtado in the 32nd, 40th, and 50th minutes respectively. Navelim Sporting managed to pull one back through Maevan in the dying moments of the game.
Velito Miranda’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by Denzil Fernandes.
