Just Cricket ,Union Gymkhana won their respective matches at SAG ground, Fatorda while Sparkling Stars Academy and Team Work Sports also registered wins at S K ground, Malkarnem in the 2nd U-13 Exposure Cricket Tournament organised by Sportsweek Cricket Club.
Union Gymkhana thrashed MCC Cricket Academy by a massive 125 runs. Union Gymkhana batted first and scored a commanding 186/5 in their 20 overs. Tejas top-scored with a brilliant 75, while Mohammed Abbas and Shahrukh Dharwadkar chipped in with valuable contributions of 12 and 15 runs respectively. Ansh Sable from MCC Academy picked up 2 wickets but couldn't prevent a strong batting performance by Union Gymkhana.
In reply, MCC Academy were bundled out for a mere 61 runs in their 20 overs. Ansh Sable remained unbeaten on 21, but it was a sorry display from the rest of the batsmen. Union Gymkhana's bowling attack shared the spoils with Naikhil Rathod and Farhan Shaikh bagging 2 wickets each.
Just Cricket Academy edged past Brilliant Cricket Academy by a close margin of 4 wickets. Brilliant Cricket Academy opted to bat first and posted a decent total of 130/3 on the board. Anvay Kavankar (57) and Sharvil Shevale (44) were the mainstays of their innings. Sohum Joshi from Just Cricket Academy was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs.
Just Cricket Academy chased down the target in 20 overs, scoring 131/6. Ayat Khan played a crucial knock of 75* to steer his team home. Mohammed chipped in with a handy 16 runs. Swaraj More and Sharvil Shevale tried their best with the ball, picking up 3 and 2 wickets respectively, but it wasn't enough to prevent Just Cricket Academy from clinching victory.
Team Work Sports Club defeated Sportsweek Cricket Club comfortably by 7 wickets. Sportsweek Cricket Club, electing to bat first, could only manage a paltry 65/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Shubham top-scored with a meagre 14 runs. Meet Sawant and Swaraj Shedge were the bowling stars for Team Work Sports Club, taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Team Work Sports Club chased down the target in a mere 12 overs, losing only 3 wickets in the process. Tanish Kadam's unbeaten knock of 16 ensured a smooth victory for his team.
Sparkling Stars Academy outclassed All Saints by a convincing margin of 9 wickets. All Saints, who were put in to bat first, were skittled out for a meagre 49 runs in 16.1 overs. Gatik Pyram's 17 runs was the only resistance shown by their batsmen. Shaurya Chodankar emerged as the bowling hero for Sparkling Stars Academy, taking a fifer (5 wickets for 13 runs). Swapnil Nayak ably supported him with 2 wickets.
In reply, Sparkling Stars Academy chased down the target in just 8 overs, losing only 1 wicket. Rehan Hubali (10*) and Keyan Thota (11*) ensured a quick and easy win for their team.
