St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim registered a solitary goal win against G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao in the inter-collegiate football championship, at Goa University Ground, Taleigao.
The lone goal of the match came in the 55th minute which was scored by Shubham Gauns.
In the second match, DM's College and Research Centre, Assagao edged past Govt College Khandola 2-1. D.M’s College opened the score-line through Nicholas D’costa in the first half. In the second half, Nicholas scored his brace to double the lead. Govt. College, Khandola pulled a goal back through Deep Marshelkar in the 68th minute.
In the third match of the day, PCCE, Verna movedto the next round after defeating Dhempe College 4-2.
In the first half, the Verna college showed full dominance scoring three goals which came through Bloyton Estrocio, Aaron Cardozo and Ivan De Cunha. In the second half PCCE, Verna increased their tally through Rahul Halarnkar. Fighting back, Dhempe College netted two goals in quick succession which came from Aditya Balekar and Anant Nagoji.
Meanwile at Rosary College Ground, Navelim, Shree Damodar College, Margao thumped GVM’s College, Ponda 5-0. Nayab Khan scored four goals while Gavrav Singh netted a brace.
The second match between Govt College, Quepem and Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao went to a tie-breaker after the team finished goalless at regulation time. The game was decided through a tie-breaker in which Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao won 4-3.
Sridora Caculo College got the better of Govt. College, Borda 5-1.
In the first half, Sridora Caculo College scored three goals where two goals came from Aryan Poll and Saideep Pomburphekar. Govt. College, Borda pulld a goal back through Sohail. In the second half Caculo College scored three more goals which were scored by Aryan Poll, Saideep Pomburphekar and Aman Govekar and sealed the victory.
