Tvisha advances to semi-finals in U-14 and U-18 categories

Twelve-year-old Tvisha Sardesai advanced to the semifinals of the girls under-14 and under-18 categories of the ongoing Baale BPS Open 2024 in Margao.

In the girls u-14 quarter-finals, Saanj Kunde beat SaraTrivedi 6-0, Avni Lotlikar beat Urvi Panandiker 6-4 and Ahana Kumar beat Kimberly D’Sa 6-1. Tvisha Sardesai, a student of The King’s School in Margao, also advanced to the semi-finals, defeating Analeah Menezes 6-0. In previous round matches in the same category, Kimberly D’Sa beat Renee Menezes 6-4 and Analeah Menezes beat Danielle Fernandes 6-0.

Tvisha Sardesai also progressed to the semi-finals of the girls U-18 event, defeating Ahana Kumar 6-1, while Avni Lotlikar also progressed to the semis, defeating Nethra Soni 6-0.

In the boys U-14 event, Vivaan Agrawal beat Isaac Carvalho 6-1, Ethan de Ataide beat Kaivalya Devaraya 6-2, Shaurya Verlekar beat Timofei Polosin 6-0 and Noah Carvalho beat Tarshish 6-0.

The men’s doubles event witnessed Rehaan Diaz/Prithvi Naik and Lyndon Pinto/Dunstan Dias defeating Bhaskar Suryanarayan/Ninaad and Arnam Ghosh/Sanjay Varak 6-2 respectively, while Shaurya Verlekar/Sandeep Verlekar beat Siddharth Nunes/Vidaal Menezes 6-3. Sreenath Sreenivasan/Deepak Nahak beat Rajesh/Jason Pereira 6-0, Anurag Agrawal/Nishad Shevde beat Sujit Sahoo/Saurabh Trivedi 6-0 and Darsh Pai/Pankaj Nanoskar beat Kane Pereira/Joshua Cardozo 6-1 to qualify for the quarterfinals of the event.

Siddharth Nunes, Punit Fadte and Nishad Shevde advanced to the semifinals of the men’s singles event, defeating Anurag Agrawal 6-3, Raoul Vas 6-1 and Avadhut Palekar 6-0 respectively.
