United Club Juniors booked their place in the semi-finals of the St. John Baptist Trophy Football Tournament with a 4–2 victory over Dados Boys in a dramatic tie-breaker. The tournament is being organized by Football Friends Benaulim and is being held at the St. John Baptist ground, Dando, Benaulim.
United Club started strongly, dominating the early exchanges. Their efforts paid off in the 14th minute when Lyndon Diniz delivered a precise cross to Yohan Rodrigues, who slotted it into the net to give his side a deserved lead.
Dados Boys regrouped after the break, with Samuel orchestrating play in midfield. Their persistence was rewarded just two minutes before full time when Nayden Dias headed in an equaliser from a well-placed cross by Mark Fernandes, forcing the match into penalties.
In the tie-breaker, Chrison, Rossly, and Adan converted their spot-kicks for United Club, while Klyn Fernandes was the only successful scorer for Dados Boys.
Lyndon Diniz was named Man of the Match for his key contribution and was felicitated by Constancio Cotte Fernandes, Nicholas Rodrigues, and Fatima Rodrigues — all former national football players from Benaulim.
