Young Blood Seraulim prevailed over Active Youth Soccobhatt Per Seraulim 4-2 via the tie-breaker to lift the Inter-Seraulim U-16 Football Cup, at Panchayat ground, Seraulim.
Active Youth Soccobhatt took the lead in the 11th minute of the first half when Prason Mandol's powerful well placed shot from a 20-yard distance took the goalkeeper by surprise.
Crossing over, Young Blood Seraulim entered the field with renewed ideas and scored at the very start of the second half when Elijah Gomes took a shot from the center which was misjudged by both the defender as well as the goal keeper to give Active Youth the much required equaliser to make it 1-1.
Both teams tried hard to find the winning goal and the ball was seen rolling from one end to the other. Since no more goals were scored after a fast pace attacking game the tie-breaker system had to be adopted and Young Blood Seraulim proved better shooters.
In the tie-breaker, Elijah Gomes, Sakshan Shanke and Elijah Gomes scored for Young Blood Seraulim. Active Youth scored through Istiyat Mohamed and Manglash Bannikappa's shot was saved by the keeper.
The following prizes were awarded in the presence of Chief Guest Sister Ria, Braz Fernandes, Jose Martins, Jilu Domingos Fernandes, Ruban Da Costa, Pio Vales and Policarpo Cruz.
