Goans are known for their love of music and dance. Reflet, which is being performed in Goa for the first time, will make audiences dance to the live performances in a show that can be enjoyed by kids and adults, and even those who may or may not be familiar with dance shows. The show draws a very mixed audience, from children to grandparents. In India, the artists have been conducting short Q&A sessions after the show when conditions permit, and they have received very interesting questions from people of all ages.

Reflet has performed more than 100 times in different versions and formats, both indoors and outdoors. What makes it popular is its strong narrative and multi-layered mix of art forms, allowing various levels of interpretation. Reflet is the opening show on the alternate stage for all the performances on the main stage at Nagalli Hills on December 15 and 16 as part of the Serendipity Arts Festival. In Goa, an outdoor version of the show in a 360° format will be presented allowing the performances very close to the audience, giving a feel of immersing in the show in totality.

“While the structure of the show will remain similar to the indoor version, these conditions will create a special energy where the audience will feel on stage with the performers,” explains Aaron Fernandes, founder of Aaron Fernandes Entertainment (AFE).

Although Xuan Le himself has performed in Goa as part of the show PIXEL by Compagnie Käfig, which toured India in 2023, adds Aaron who works for the French Institute in India as the tour manager and producer for Reflet’s India tour. Aaron has known Xuan Le since his performance in PIXEL as he had managed that tour as well.

“However, this is my first time working with him on his own production. Reflet has toured many countries including Korea, Vietnam, India, France, Germany, Italy, Poland etc. It is a minimalistic but technically specific show that is a genre-breaking performance seamlessly blending hip-hop, contemporary movement, meditative balance, roller skating, and immersive visual poetry.

“Reflet creates an immersive, enchanted world of fluid motion and evocative storytelling. Every glide, turn, and shift unfolds like a living poem, enhanced by the compelling electronic score composed by Jules Evrard,” he briefs. He also mentions that the tickets at Nagalli Hills start at Rs 99 and one can add any additional amount as a donation.

AFE has been working on projects with the Serendipity Festival since 2023. Every year since then, we have had between 3 to 4 projects in each edition in which we are involved in different capacities. This year we have: REFLET (France), which we are tour managing and handling production Handle with Care (Belgium) – an absolutely unique immersive audience-participatory show from Belgium that has no actors. It’s just the audience and a box. I met the company at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024 and decided to bring the show to India. It has already happened in Bangalore and Kolkata.

There involves the behind-the-scenes planning for a multi-city international production creating challenges in staging a minimalist, high-precision performance across different Indian venues. Agreeing to this Aaron reflects that each tour has its own complexities. The more cities on the tour, the more people involved, and the more technically complex the show, the higher the probability that something might go wrong, he says.

“We have dealt with cancellations (the recent Indigo fiasco), non-availability of technical equipment, lost baggage, emergency medical treatments forcing travel changes — the list goes on. The key is staying calm, planning in advance, attending to every detail, and having backup plans and contingency budgets to make quick decisions while always keeping the artist, the quality of the show, and the audience experience in mind. At AFE, we pride ourselves on being a hands-on, diligent team, which is why clients keep coming back to work with us,” he further asserts.

“Together with my two travel companions, Rico and Sukaran (AFE tour manager), I experienced the model of an ideal tour. This was true both in terms of the initial planning — which ensured that our energy was preserved over the long run — and in terms of the hospitality and technical support we received,” asserted the French artist Aaron toured with on a 27-day, 11-city tour of India over September and October in 2025.

The French artist, Stephane Scharle, drummer/music composer complimented, “In this regard, I want to take my hat off to Aaron’s entire team, whose professionalism and responsiveness were flawless throughout the tour. Every obstacle, every unexpected situation was handled with remarkable speed and absolute composure. You truly have an exceptional partner here, and I say this with the weight of my 25 years of experience!”
