About 39 girl students and a teacher from a school at Tivim, who had gone for a picnic at Curchorem, were injured, when the bus in which they were travelling fell on its side at Hodar-Curchorem on Thursday evening.

According to reports, about 39 students were admitted in Curchorem Community Health Centre, while a teacher and a student, who sustained facial injuries, were referred to Hospicio in Margao.
Sources informed that the fire brigade officials along with fire fighting equipment and crane rushed to the spot, while police also reached the site and rescued all the girl students from the bus. The bus cleaner who was trapped inside the bus was rescued by the fire fighting officials. Later, all the students were referred to Curchorem Community Health Centre.
Speaking to The Goan, Health Officer Dr Medha Kudchadkar said 39 people were admitted and are being treated at the health centre.
“There are no severe injuries. Few who complained of pain were also checked for any fracture. A student and a teacher were referred to Hospicio in Margao, as they sustained facial injuries and swelling,” informed Dr Kudchadkar.
