Specially abled children of the Gujarati Samaj school, Margao had a fun time on Monday when they watched the Hindi film Sitaare Zameen Par at the INOX, Margao.

President of the Gujarati Samaj running the school for the specially abled children Mukesh Sanglani told the media that the Gujarati school was the first school in South Goa that had catered to the needs of the specially abled children.
“It is the endeavour of the school to make the specially abled children independent. Last year, around six children were given placements in the hospitality and packaging industry. Our teachers are in constant touch with the employers. If they have any problem, the children are brought back to the school and given guidance before return back to their work place,”Mukesh said.
He added; “We have a vocational section in the school, where the students are imparted training as per their talent. Our children prepare items for sale during festivities. The idea is not to make money, but to help the students show case their talents. Even our students have participated in special Olympics”, he added.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, who was invited by the BJP medical cell to watch the film along with the students, complimented the Gujarati school for catering to the needs and requirements of the specially abled children.
