Brand Audi ups its ante in India by launching 2013 models of their cars, Audi Q5 and Audi R8

German luxury car manufacturer, Audi, recently unveiled thenew Audi Q5 performance SUV and the sporty spearhead of the Audi model lineup –the new R8 with new elements in design, infotainment, assistance systems andengines. The new Audi Q5’s extroverted presence boasts of restyled Xenon plusheadlights, new homogenous strip of LED daytime running lights and revised rearlights with a more graphic effect and a reduced appearance. 

Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, wants to leave no stoneunturned to make sure Audi’s contenders emerge as winners in their respectivesegments. He says, “There are a host of design and mechanical changes thatstrongly accentuate the sporty and distinctive off road character of the AudiQ5. We hope that the new performance it will drive enjoyment and affinity inthe same way as the Audi Q range has so far. The added attraction to owning thenew Audi Q5 is a new set of the features from the Audi Q7 which are alsoavailable in this new performance SUV. The new Audi R8 has a powerful V8 andV10 engine, a single-frame grille with tapered corners, round tailpipes,cornering lights and a whole series of performance characteristics, this highperformance sports car has some of the most eye-catching new features. With thelaunch of new Audi Q5 and new Audi R8, we will further consolidate ourleadership position in the super sports car segment in India”.

The new Audi Q5 is available in India with a choice ofhighly efficient and equally powerful engines 2.0 TDIq, 3.0 TDIq and 2.0 TFSIq.In the new Audi Q5, fuel economy has been improved by up to 15 percent despiteincreased power. The engines combine direct fuel injection with turbo charging.The fuel economy of the two TDI engines and one TFSI engine has been improvedby upto 15 percent.

The Audi R8 V8 delivers 316 kW (430 hp) and 430 Nm of torquebetween 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. In combination with the seven-speed S tronic, itaccelerates the R8 Coupé from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds on its way to atop speed of 300 km/h. The Audi R8 V10 Coupé with the S tronic completes thestandard sprint in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 314 km/h and delivers 386kW (525 hp). The new Audi R8 V10 Spyder sprints in 3.8 seconds with a top speedof 311 km/h. Also, the Audi engineers have reduced the weight of the top modelby roughly 50 kilograms.
