With elections round the corner, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced 10,000 government jobs in the State within the next six months.

“The employment scene has become worrisome. Many people in the private sector have lost jobs due to the ongoing pandemic. A lot of youth have become unemployed,” Sawant said, in his Goa Revolution Day address.

He said the government will commence the process of recruiting people in various departments in the next six months.

“Approximately 10,000 jobs will be filled for which exams and physical tests will be conducted in the next six months. We will hire people to posts that have been already advertised and also those which need to be advertised,” he said.

He said various schemes such as CM’s fellowship scheme for post graduates and CMs apprenticeship scheme will go a long way for youth to get gainfully employed.

He further said that modern career centres started at the employment exchange will help youth to gain employment government but also in the private sector.

“Government will help everyone to get employment either in government or non-government concerns or to be self-employed,” the CM said.
