MARGAO: Even the fire officer was stopped from entering the ground by the security when a minor fire broke out close to the VVIP enclosure during Wednesday's ISL match at Fatorda.
Fire officer Dr Gill Souza informed that he was seated in the fire control room opened at the stadium when he received information that a minor fire broke out in front of the VVIP gallery. "I immediately tried to rush to the place but the private security stopped me. They asked for the red card though I was in my uniform," he said.
Gill said his firemen had doused the fire with the extinguisher, but lamented that the security did not allow him to make it to the site.
