Curtorim Gymkhana prevailed over Parish Youth Nuvem 4-2 via the tiebreaker in the final of the Betalbatim Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament played at Betalbatim ground on Sunday.
The match was goalless at the end of the normal period. In the tiebreaker, Curtorim Gymkhana scored through Jovel Martins, Aliston Fernandes, James Fernandes and Mario Mascarenhas. For Parish Youth Nuvem, Inacio Colaco and Alloysius Fernandes netted.
Individual prizes: Man of the match - Nixon Castanha (Curtorim Gymkhana), First scorer - Jovel Martins (Curtorim Gymkhana), Best goalkeeper - Joy Hilario (Curtorim Gymkhana), Best defender - Mario Mascarenhas (Curtorim Gymkhana), Best midfielder - Inacio Colaco (Parish Youth Nuvem), Best disciplined team - Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda.
Alexio Sequeira, MLA of Loutoulim constituency, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Fr Adriao Furtado, parish priest of Betalbatim Church, other dignitaries and club officials.
